Play the way the pros play
If you want to play like the pros play, at least play the right games. There are only three gambling endeavors that can be beaten with skill: poker, horse racing and sports betting. Thats all. Thats it. Blackjack, craps, and video poker have some possibilities, but they are better defined as low-percentage games.
-
Learn the easier ways to count cards at the blackjack tables, but stay away from continuous shuffling machines, now widely installed in casinos. They can stop card-counters cold.
-
At the hold em tables, learn how to play weak hands. This important skill explains why you see many of the same faces on televised tournaments.
-
When playing video poker, look for optimum paytables. You want a machine that pays seven times your wager for a flush and nine times for a full house.
-
The key to winning at the craps tables is to "take the odds," a bet that doesnt give casinos any advantage at all! Only play at casinos that offer higher limits on these delicious bets!
-
Learn how to make bets at the racetrack by focusing on the changing odds. If you learn how to "read the board," youll learn how to spot the smart money.
-
Of all the professional players Ive know over the decades, sports bettors have been the clear winner. Mostly football, and mostly lop-sided contests... looking for a "short spread," as its called... thats the trick. The sports book puts up enough points to split the betting public but not enough to even up the game. The real pros call these games "rent money," and they live in some pretty fancy digs.
-
Regardless of the games you play, get in the habit of betting progressively more when youre winning. Never set limits on your winnings, but always set limits on losses. Whats important is not how much you win, but how much you keep!
